The Bears Week 7 matchup with the Rams was one that most of the team would like to forget, as the Bears offense failed to reach the end zone even once. Wide receivers Darnell Mooney and Anthony Miller were involved, but only minimally. They each recorded three receptions for 40 and 20 yards respectively. Neither player had a viable fantasy day and will look to improve in Week 8 against the Saints. Will either of them be worthy of a starting spot in your lineup? We break down the fantasy analysis below.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bears WRs Anthony Miller and Darnell Mooney
Anthony Miller got off to a hot start this season, when he had four receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown to total 17.6 PPR fantasy points. He has failed to even come close to that level of that production since then. He is only averaging 7.3 PPR points and is currently the 66th ranked wide receiver. With Allen Robinson commanding such a large portion of the team’s targets, and Darnell Mooney dipping into the remainder of available targets, there is not enough volume left to make Miller a reliable weekly option.
Darnell Mooney has a consistent but smaller role in the Bears offense, as he is usually good for about 3 receptions per game. Mooney has only topped 50 yards once this season and has also only found the endz one once. Similar to Miller’s situation, there are too many mouths to feed in this relatively low scoring offense to produce multiple viable fantasy starters. Mooney is not quite ready to be a fantasy starter just yet.
