In UFC Fight Island 5’s main event, #1 Marlon Moraes and #4 Cory Sandhagen will take the octagon in a five-round men’s bantamweight bout live from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and available on ESPN+.

Peter Yan is currently ruling over the bantamweight division but these two aren’t far behind, and this fight will likely dictate who gets the next shot at the belt.

The early odds have Sandhagen as the favorite. He enters with a 12-2 MMA record and an average fight time of 8:18 with his 5-1 UFC record. He enters off a loss to #2 Aljamain Sterling in which he was submitted via a rear naked choke in under 90 seconds. Sandhagen has a strike-heavy style, throwing 6.95 significant strikes per minutes on 48 percent accuracy. With 1.2 takedowns per 15 minutes in the octagon, he’s more prone to stay on his feet.

That will be just fine for Moraes who has a decorated resume as well. 23-6-1 in MMA fighting, Moraes has won five of his last six fights in the UFC, only losing a shot at the belt to the now-retired Henry Cejudo. He’s taken down #7 Jose Aldo, Sterling and #9 Raphael Assuncao.

Moraes lands just 3.53 significant strikes per minute and defends 3.69, deflecting them at a 58 percent rate. His history speaks far more volumes than his numbers, making this a tough bout to wager on.
