Best bets to consider for Thursday’s Buccaneers-Bears matchup

We identify some of our favorite prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of Thursday’s matchup between the Buccaneers and Bears.

Week 5 will begin with a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Injuries have stripped the visiting team bare, and the Buccaneers’ health could affect what prop bets are worth considering in the matchup. We’ve identified a few ideal lines worth considering on DraftKings SportsBook.

Ronald Jones over 69.5 rushing yards (-112)

Jones is coming off his best game of the season. He posted 111 rushing yards on 20 carries against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4 and won’t have much competition in the backfield. Leonard Fournette is going to play but is banged up with an ankle injury, and LeSean McCoy and Kenjon Barner have already been ruled out. Injuries to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, and Justin Watson should make the running game the focus. Jones could surpass his career high of 20 carries in this game, and he’d have to be pretty bad to not his 70 rushing yards with that much volume.

Rob Gronkowski over 37.5 receiving yards (+100)

Gronk has been underwhelming this season, but O.J. Howard’s season-ending Achilles injury has opened up the door for him to be an impact player. The Bears have given up at least one touchdown to a tight end in three of their four games this season, and Brady’s options will be limited. Gronk will play a ton of snaps and should get more opportunities than usual.

Darnell Mooney to score a touchdown (+1800)

This bet is a bit of a long shot, as Allen Robinson is the Bears pass catcher who is most likely to score. Mooney has begun to emerge as a favorite of Foles though, and the rookie has played more snaps than Anthony Miller for three straight weeks. He amassed 9 targets against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4, and only Robinson had more passes thrown his way.
