What to do with Bucs D/ST, Bears D/ST in Week 5 fantasy football

One defense has a clear advantage in Thursday’s game.

Why are the Chicago Bears off to a 3-1 start to their season? It’s mostly thanks to their defense, which has been playing some lights out football through the first four games. After all, 3-1 teams don’t usually make non-injury related quarterback changes. Meanwhile, Tom Brady and the offense get most of the attention for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but their defense has been among the better units in game so far too. So what happens this week?

Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs D/ST, Bears D/ST

Thursday’s game has all the makings of a defensive showdown. Both teams boast top-10 units when it comes to defending against opposing passing games. The Bucs have been slightly more effective stopping the ground game too. So how to choose between two very good units? Simple, Nick Foles.

Brady isn’t perfect, but I trust him to make a few more of the plays he’ll need to make in this type of game compared to his counterpart in Chicago. Despite a three-touchdown effort against the terrible Falcons defense in Week 3, Foles did not have a good game last week against the Colts, another one of the league’s top defenses. To me, that’s a good guide for what’s going to happen this week, giving the Bucs D/ST an edge in this one.
