Thursday update: Ruggs was upgraded to a full participant in practice, while Waller got in another limited session. Bryan Edwards was a DNP once again.
The Las Vegas Raiders have been short on pass catchers lately and are banged up on offense ahead of their Week 5 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Tight end Darren Waller (knee) and wideout Henry Ruggs III (knee/hamstring) were listed as limited participants in practice on Wednesday’s injury report.
Waller has been dealing with knee pain since he erupted with 12 receptions for 105 yards and a score against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. He’s logged some DNPs and limited practices for two weeks but hasn’t missed a game this season. It would be surprising if he didn’t play and help anchor the Raiders’ offense against one of the NFL’s more impressive defenses.
Ruggs also sustained his injury in Week 2 and didn’t practice last Friday before sitting out for a Week 4 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. The rookie is practicing early in the week, so it appears like he’s trending in the right direction.
Bryan Edwards isn’t practicing because of an ankle injury, so Hunter Renfrow and Nelson Agholor could continue to get more exposure through the air while Las Vegas is spread thin.
