We take you through some of the best quarterbacks going in Week 5 for fantasy football, including a few viable streamers.

Final injury report

The NFL wrapped up practices on Friday most of the schedule, which brings the final injury report. The teams still completing practices over the weekend are the Broncos, Patriots, Saints, Chargers, Titans, and Bills. Saints-Chargers is a go for Monday Night Football. Broncos-Patriots is scheduled for Monday and Bills-Titans is scheduled for Tuesday so long as there are no more positive Covid-19 tests. We’ll add those six teams’ players as their final injury reports arrive.

Questionable: Lamar Jackson (knee, illness)

Removed from final injury report: Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle)

Wednesday injury report

The NFL returned to practice on Wednesday to kick off Week 5, and with it came the first injury report information. The most notable news was Ravens QB Lamar Jackson sitting out practice due to a knee injury. The day off was described as precautionary, but this will be one to track this week and beyond. Look for Jackson to return to practice on Thursday, but this is also something to keep an eye on in games in case of any tweaking of the injury.

Additionally, 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo was back at practice after missing the past two weeks with a high ankle sprain. His status for Sunday remains in doubt.

DNP: Sam Darnold (shoulder), Lamar Jackson (knee)
Limited: Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), Drew Lock (shoulder)
Full: Josh Allen (shoulder)

Last week we had three quarterbacks top 300 yards and four touchdown passes, as Dak Prescott, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers all topped those marks. Prescott has yet to catch up with Russell Wilson in total fantasy points, but he’s just .2 points off in ESPN fantasy leagues.

Teddy Bridgewater was the most surprising top scorer in Week 4, as he came in at QB4, buoyed by his 32 rushing yards and a touchdown to go with 276 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception. This week he gets the Atlanta Falcons, giddyup!

Injury news

Drew Lock could return soon, but he does have a game on Thursday against the Patriots. That likely won’t get him enough time, so Brett Rypien will likely get the call again.

Sam Darnold isn’t likely to play against the Cardinals with a separated shoulder. Joe Flacco will get the start unless new changes.

Jimmy Garoppolo is still uncertain for Week 5, but he does have a chance to play against the Dolphins this week. If he can’t go, C.J. Beathard might get the nod after replacing Nick Mullens mid-game, but that is also still unknown.

Bye weeks

Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford will be unavailable due to the Packers and Lions being on byes. Rodger’s loss is a big one, as he has been on fire so far this season. Stafford finally has Kenny Golladay back and took a step up statistically last week, so he could be ready to roll out of the bye.

Streaming options

Teddy Bridgewater, Panthers

Bridgewater turned in his best game of the season last week against the Cardinals and now gets a great matchup with the Falcons, who have allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks on the season. Atlanta has taken on some great passing offenses, but they’ve also taken on the Bears, who benched their quarterback mid-game and still ended up throwing for 316 yards and four touchdowns against them.

Kirk Cousins, Vikings

Cousins has helped Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson to some big numbers of late, but Cousins is still coming up short in the fantasy department, as the Vikings lean on the run when not throwing to their Top 2 wideouts. This week they will have a tougher time going all in with a big workload for Dalvin Cook on the ground though. Seattle’s offense has been on point and should force Cousins to throw against their 29th ranked pass defense in DVOA.
