Dolphins are early winners in race for 2021 NFL draft order

The close of Monday’s doubleheader will bring us a quarter of the way through the 2020 season. With 13 weeks of football games remaining in the regular season, a lot is going to change. We are starting to get a handle on the good and bad teams that are not the usual suspects, but the final order of the things is still a ways off.

That being said, it’s never too early to start taking a look at the potential order for the 2021 NFL Draft. There’s a handful of teams that will clearly be in the mix for one of the top picks, and we can start to get a handle on how things might shake out.

Coming out of Week 4 Sunday, the two New York teams top the list. The New York Giants and New York Jets currently hold the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. They are joined by the Houston Texans at the No. 3 spot ... sort of.

The Texans traded their first round pick to the Miami Dolphins as part of a package of picks that landed them offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Kenny Stills. The Dolphins own pick is at No. 10 for the moment, but they also would have the No. 3 pick, courtesy of the Texans. Not too shabby for the Dolphins.

Here’s the draft order for the top four teams, all of whom are winless through Week 4. We’ll start adding teams with one win later in the season. SOS, the tiebreaker, comes via Tankathon.
