In game between two former MVPs in Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers, it would be crazy not to start every fantasy option from the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons game, right?
Davante Adams? Questionable to play.
Julio Jones? Questionable.
Calvin Ridley? Questionable.
Allen Lazard? Out indefinitely.
Well maybe not so fast then...
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons WR Matt Ryan
When considering whether to start Matt Ryan in fantasy this week, the focus shouldn’t necessarily be about the offense, but rather the defense. The Atlanta Falcons defense has struggled mightily in 2020 - to put it lightly - and there isn’t much light at the end of the tunnel this week facing Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, even if the Packers are without Davante Adams for the second week in a row.
This game has all the makings of a shootout, and even if the Falcons blow a late lead for the 4th game in a row, Matt Ryan could still put up big numbers in garbage time. In Ryan’s first game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks, Ryan threw for 450 yards in a shootout. In the Falcons’ second game, Ryan threw for “only” 273 yards, but tossed four touchdown passes.
This week has the making of another such game for Ryan and the Falcons, no matter which receivers suit up for him Monday night.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Ryan.
