The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense hasn’t had a complete - and healthy - set of wide receivers yet through the first three games of 2020, and it looks like that trend will continue into Week 4, as Chris Godwin is slated to miss the Buccaneers hosting the Los Angeles Chargers.
Mike Evans has still become one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets, especially in the red zone, and Scott Miller has lead the Buccaneers in receiving yards two of the season’s first three games.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs WRs Mike Evans, Scott Miller, Justin Watson
This week, the Buccaneers are set to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, who have been one of the league’s best at containing opposing wide receivers in 2020. The Chargers have given up the 9th-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers in 2020, and that’s including a week 2 overtime loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Beyond just the less-than-favorable matchup, the weather conditions aren’t lining up well for a passing game either. It’s currently forecasted to rain all game in Tampa, so with a slippery ball, this could be a sloppy game that gets played primarily in the trenches. Ronald Jones and Austin Ekeler might have big games, but this doesn’t appear the game where Tom Brady passes for over 300 yards for the first time as a member of the Buccaneers.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Evans as a WR1, Miller as a low-end flex, and bench Watson.
