Julian Edelman’s name on the injury report is the only thing normal about the New England Patriots’ Week 4. The game was originally set for Sunday, but has now been pushed back to Monday or Tuesday at the earliest in the wake of Cam Newton testing positive for COVID-19. There’s a chance, too, that the game could be further delayed. But for now, here’s what we know about Edelman’s status.
Fantasy impact: Julian Edelman injury
He is listed as questionable with a knee injury on the official injury report. That’s not especially uncommon for Edelman and the Patriots. He was a full go at practice this week, and would have been in the lineup for the game on Sunday too. He’ll most likely be there if the game is played Monday or Tuesday, but he’ll be working with a different quarterback.
That could all be off the table now that someone in the Patriots’ locker room has tested positive for the virus. We’ll have to see if other players test positive as well. But in terms of Edelman’s knee injury, that’s not going to keep him off the field this week, if they actually play the game.
