The Browns aerial attack has been an afterthought the past two weeks, as Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have been plowing through defenses and putting the offense on their backs. Baker Mayfield only attempted 23 passes in each of those games, leaving little room for success for the wide receivers. That may change in Week 4, against a susceptible Cowboys secondary. Do Beckham Jr. and Landry deserve a spot in your lineups? We break down the fantasy implications below.
Fantasy Football analysis: Browns WRs Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry
Odell Beckham Jr. has had limited success thus far this year, and based on recent comments he has made, he expects things to stay that way. As was stated earlier, Mayfield only threw the ball 23 times in Week 3, but it is promising that Beckham received six of those targets, which he turned into four receptions for 59 yards and 9.9 PPR points. It’s not much, but he made the most of a limited opportunity. The Browns are likely to have to throw more often to keep up with a fast paced Cowboys offense, and Beckham Jr. has the ability to exploit this secondary. Look for his numbers to improve this week and start him as a low end WR2.
Jarvis Landry has always been a volume guy, but volume guys don’t fare well when there aren’t many targets to go around. He only received four targets in Week 3 and brought in all four of them for 36 yards. This is not an ideal fantasy performance and Landry will require an uptick in targets to be fantasy relevant. Given the likely increase in the Brown’s passing volume, Landry may be useful as a flex option in Week 4.
