What to do with Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Darnell Mooney in Week 4 fantasy football

How does the value of the Bears wide receivers change with Nick Foles at quarterback?

The outlook for the Bears wide receivers was somewhat bleak through the first 2 games of the 2020 season, but Nick Foles brought a glimmer of hope for this squad as he replaced Mitch Trubisky against the Falcons. Foles tossed three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to lead the Bears to an improbable victory. How should we value these three receivers moving forward with a new QB at the helm. We break down the fantasy implications below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bears WRs Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Darnell Mooney

Allen Robinson is the No. 1 wideout in Chicago no matter who is under center, however he may receive a bump in value with Nick Foles replacing Mitch Trubisky. He received nine targets in each of the first two games and received 13 targets in Week 3. The real difference maker in Week 3 was that he managed to turn those targets into 10 receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. He even had a second touchdown called back. Robinson already had the volume and the talent to be a WR1, and the quarterback change will give him an even better chance of realizing his potential. Robinson belongs in every lineup this weekend, despite a tough Colts secondary.

Anthony Miller came up with a goose egg in Week 2 after a strong Week 1 performance, causing many to wonder if he would be a disappointment yet again this year. Week 3 may have quelled some of those fears, as Nick Foles connected with Miller for the game winning touchdown, which salvaged his fantasy day. He finished the day with 2 receptions for 41 yards and one touchdown for 13.1 PPR points. The switch to Foles increases Miller’s value, but he will need to see an uptick in volume to be trusted on a weekly basis in lineups. The Colts secondary is not an ideal matchup and it may be best to take the wait and see approach with Miller at this time.

Darnell Mooney has worked his way into a consistent role in the Bears offense, however that role is consistently small, as he has yet to see more than 5 targets in a game this season. Allen Robinson commands most of the attention from the quarterback and severely undermines the fantasy value of his fellow wideouts. Mooney has shown he is capable of getting the job done, but will require an increase in targets before being considered an asset in your fantasy lineup.
