Injuries have taken a toll on the San Francisco 49ers running backs. Starter Raheem Mostert has been out since Week 2, and looks like he’ll miss another game this week. Tevin Coleman is on injured reserve. That leaves the duo of Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson to handle the workload in the ground game, but which one is more relevant for fantasy purposes?
Fantasy Football analysis: 49ers RBs Jerick McKinnon, Jeff Wilson
McKinnon has his own injury scare last week when he suffered bruised ribs. However, he was back on the practice field on Thursday, and should be good to go this weekend. McKinnon had 14 carries, a season high, last week for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Wilson ran it in for a score last week too, and he scored on one of the three passes he caught in that game.
Both players are attractive options for fantasy lineups this week with a cake matchup against the Eagles. McKinnon’s role as the team’s third down back is secure, and he’ll get some carries to go with that. Wilson should see double digit touches, which could turn into nice gains against Philly’s defense.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start McKinnon and Wilson.
