What to do with Mike Davis, Reggie Bonnafon in Week 4 fantasy football

With Christian McCaffery out of the lineup, how will these guys fare?

With Christian McCaffery out of the lineup with an ankle injury, should you pick up another Carolina Panthers running back to replace him this week against the Arizona Cardinals?

The Cardinals rush defense has been solid through three weeks and while veterans, Carolina’s backfield doesn't have a lot of game experience.

Fantasy Football analysis: Panthers RBs Mike Davis, Reggie Bonnafon

Last week against the LA Chargers, Mike Davis was the team’s featured back. He got 13 carries for 46 yards. So nothing earth shattering from a fantasy perspective. WHere he does add value is in the passing game. He caught eight out of his nine targets for 45 more yards and a touchdown.

Bonnafon got two carries for 16 yards, including one 13 yard run. He didn’t add any stats in the passing game. So there’s a clear RB1 and RB2 for Matt Rhule and his squad.

The Panthers are facing a middle of the road run defense in Arizona, who allows 110 rushing yards per game on average.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Davis is sure to get more points than Bonnafon, barring injury. The Panthers do have a pass-first offense, but Davis has been a productive guy in the air attack. If it’s a PPR league, start Davis. If not, sit him.
