Biggest line moves for Week 9 of college football

Here are the college football spreads that have moved the most this week.

Throughout the first two months of the college football, we’ve learned that no lead is safe and any team can be upset on any given Saturday. Week 9 is no different as we had a couple of games postponed already, and teams losing their starting quarterbacks due to positive COVID-19 tests.

As the noon games wrap up across the country, let’s take a look at how some of the betting lines have moved ahead of this Saturday’s late schedule. These three games we will highlight, the lines have moved from earlier this week.

You can see all the current lines here at DraftKings Sportsbook, and you can see how the public is betting on each of these games here.

LSU from -2.5 to -0.5 vs. Auburn

When the opening lines came out for this particular game, LSU was a -2.5 point favorite against Auburn. However with only minutes before game time, Geaux Tigers are only -0.5 point favorites over their SEC counterparts.

A reason for a change could be that LSU freshman QB T.J. Finley is only making his second start and first on the road. It doesn’t hurt that Auburn is 9-1 straight up in their last 10 home games.

Northwestern from +2.5 to +0.5 vs. Iowa, from O/U 48.5 to 42.5

Another game that had an interesting line change is Northwestern-Iowa in the Big Ten. Earlier this week, the Wildcats were underdogs by +2.5 points over the Hawkeyes with the O/U set at 48.5.

Fast forward to today and Northwestern is only an underdog by a hook, which is the same as it being a pick ‘em (the half-a-point only matters to those playing teasers). Also the O/U dropping to 42.5, which is due to the weather: The winds are blowing at 19 mph, but no rain is expected in Iowa City.

Boise State from -10.5 to -14.5 vs. Air Force, from O/U 53.5 to 49

Earlier this week, the Boise State Broncos were scheduled as -10.5 favorites over their Mountain West counterparts in Air Force. The O/U for this Halloween night matchup was set at 53.5.

But looking at the updated lines just hours before the game, the Broncos are now favorited by -14.5 with the O/U dropping to 49. It’s probably somewhat related to the loss of Kadin Remsberg to a lower-body injury for at least three weeks.

The consensus for is this game is Boise State should win. However, with the way that Air Force can run the football, we could see a low-scoring contest.
