Sunday Update: Two elite run defenses will face off in this game but Conner’s fantasy outlook is good. He’s projected to lead all Steelers with 16.46 points in ESPN leagues. No other Pittsburgh back is projected for more than 4 fantasy points.
It’s not easy for a running back to do much damage against the Ravens defense. But it’s not impossible either. So what should you do with Steelers running back James Conner when these AFC North rivals meet this week?
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers RB James Conner
Conner has 451 yards and four touchdowns so far this season. He had his touchdown streak snapped last week, not finding the end zone for the first time in four games. However, he had a touchdown called back and failed to reel in a pass for an easy score. But he still managed to finish with a respectable 82 yards on 20 carries.
The Ravens aren’t giving up big points to running backs this season. Only one player, Miles Sanders of the Eagles, was able to roll up more than 100 rushing yards. And they’ve allowed just one running back to score a touchdown against them this season, Washington’s Antonio Gibson who had 46 rushing yards and another 82 receiving.
While it may not be Conner’s best shot at a huge game, he’s just too consistent of a performer to leave on the bench. Though you can probably find a better play in DFS since he’s $6,400 in DraftKings leagues this week.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start James Conner.
