What to do with Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler in Week 8 fantasy football

We go over Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Broncos Week 8 matchup against the Chargers.

Game day update: Tim Patrick will attempt to participate in pre-game warm ups, but given his DNP status for Friday’s practice, fantasy managers are better off to roll with a pivot play. Worth noting for the Broncos active receivers, Chargers DB Desmond King is out for Week 8, which could allow some room for production.

The Denver Broncos will be looking for their young wide receiver unit to step up on Sunday when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos’ wide receiver unit was dealt a huge blow earlier this season when they lost Courtland Sutton for a year. Now it appears as if they might be without Tim Patrick, who is questionable with a hamstring injury.

In Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick had three receptions for 44 yards. Before that outing, he posted back-to-back 100-yard performances. If Patrick cannot play this weekend, the Broncos will have to run with Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler, and DaeSean Hamilton at the starting spots.

Fantasy Football analysis: Broncos WRs Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, KJ Hamler

As previously mentioned, Patrick was starting to string some good performances together and emerging as the Broncos’ leading receiver. In his two 100-yard receiving performances, the 6-foot-4 Patrick scored 17.3 and 10.1 fantasy points, which isn’t easy production to replace.

That being said, it might be time for Jeudy and Hamler to showcase that playmaking ability, which made them special players in college. When it comes Jeudy, he had his highlight game in Week 4, catching two passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. That was his best fantasy performance as the former Alabama standout scored 12.1 points. Every other week outside of that, he’s only scoring 2-6 points.

Hamler is still working himself into the offense after missing most of training camp and Week 1. In Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the former PSU WR had three receptions (seven targets) for 48 yards. Again, just like Jeudy, he flashed for one game but hasn’t built off of it.

Granted, could both Jeudy and Hamler show up on Sunday? They can, along with Hamilton, who has been a disappointment since coming out of Penn State. The Chargers’ defense is giving up 253.2 yards per game, which is good for 23rd in the NFL. This tells us that the opportunities will present itself but will Lock and Co. capitalize on it?

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Jeudy as a FLEX.

Sit Hamler and Hamilton.
