How and what to watch for Missouri vs. No. 10 Florida

The 10th-ranked Florida Gators are looking to get back on track after having their last game postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests when they take on the Missouri Tigers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET in Gainesville, Fla.

The last time we saw Florida (2-1) on the field, they lost in a shootout against Kellen Mond and Texas A&M. In that Oct. 10 contest, Gators senior quarterback Kyle Trask completed 71.9 percent of his passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns. Throughout the early part of this season, Trask has completed at least 71 percent of his passes in each game.

The veteran gunslinger has also done a great job taking care of the football as he has 14 touchdowns and only one interception. On Saturday night, Trask will be going up against a Mizzou defense that is giving up 243.3 yards per game. Expect him to find his top two targets in standout tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Kadarius Toney.

This season, Pitts has been one of the best offensive players in college football with 17 receptions for 274 yards and a team-high seven touchdowns. Toney has 18 receptions for 237 yards and four touchdowns. Mizzou’s defense will have its hands full with the Gators’ explosive offense.

As for the Tigers (2-2), they are coming off of a 20-10 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. The Wildcats have had an issue of stopping the run this season, and Tigers senior running back Larry Rountree III exploited it. The 5-foot-10 Rountree had 126 rushing yards on 37 carries and two touchdowns. He will be looking for his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game on Saturday night against a Florida defense that allowed Isaiah Spiller to reach that mark.

The Best Bet

After having their last game postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests a couple of weeks ago, it will be interesting to see if the Gators are rusty to start the game on Saturday night. That being said, expect Trask and Co. to pick up where they left off against a Mizzou team that is giving up 35 points a game on the road.
