Game day update: Despite the excitement to see this Tua Tagovailoa under center for the first time, the cards are stacked against him in this one. He’ll face Aaron Donald up front, Jalen Ramsey in the secondary. Luckily, weather shouldn’t be an issue for the rookie, but he’s tough to start in his first career outing.

The time has come. NFL fans, college football fans, and the fantasy community will all finally get to see how Tua Tagovailoa performs at the highest level of competition, as he earns his first start in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams. We don’t have much in terms of stats to go off of to predict what Tua’s performance will look like, but we know enough about his offensive weapons and his defensive opponent to take an educated guess. Is Tua worthy of a start for the Miami Dolphins AND a start in your fantasy lineup as well? We break down the fantasy analysis below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa

Coming off of a bye week, the Dolphins have named Tua Tagovailoa their Week 8 starter. He will face off against a tough Los Angeles Rams defense that just held Nick Foles to completing only 28 of 40 passes for 261 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Rams are currently ranked 10th among defenses in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, at 19.7 points per game. It’s also worth mentioning that the Dolphins top wide receiver, DeVante Parker, has been limited in practice so far this week. His status is worth monitoring, as having him around will be beneficial to Tua’s production outlook. Tua may come out of the gate and blow every one away, allowing Dolphins fans to breathe a sigh of relief. He may also falter on the biggest stage and struggle against a strong Rams defense. Either way, it may be best to leave Tua on the bench this week to see how things play out.
