Game day update: With the inefficiencies of the Chargers run-game looming, we should continue to see a pass-heavy scheme to favor rookie Justin Herbert and his receivers. Jalen Guyton should be considered an interesting option in DFS formats, currently sitting at $3,600 on DraftKings with big-play ability, having reeled in 4/205/2 in the Chargers last three games.
The emergence of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert had made the Los Angeles Chargers’ top three wide receivers a part of the weekly conversation for fantasy football. And while there’s one clear favorite among the trio, the other two are capable of having a big week here and there too.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers WRs Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Jalen Guyton
Allen has been the primary beneficiary of Herbert’s outstanding play. He was targeted a stunning 13 times last week against the Jaguars, catching 10 of those passes for 125 yards. He’s a reliable fantasy starter every week.
Unfortunately for Williams and Guyton, those big weeks get sandwiched together with some duds. Last week, Williams had just one catch on three targets for four yards, while Guyton had 84 yard and a touchdown catching two of three targets. The numbers were flipped the game before that when Williams had 109 yards and a score, while Guyton had just 49 yards on a single catch. That makes it hard to bank on one or the other player each week. If you’re a conservative fantasy manager, you might want to skip them. If you’re the gambling type, one or the other is worth taking a chance on because of their upside.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Keenan Allen. Sit Mike Williams and Jalen Guyton.
