Picking stud defenses can be extremely hard when it comes it fantasy football. It’s often hit or miss. We have our eyes on a two D/STs that could put up strong numbers in Week 8 and two that could flop. Here are are some ideal plays and fades ahead of the action.
D/ST Starts
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys
This one isn’t hard to figure out. Dallas looked horrendous against the Washington Football team and will likely have to start a rookie quarterback against one of the better defensive lines in the NFL. The Cowboys are all over the place on offense and will likely give the ball
Chicago Bears vs. New Orleans Saints
Michael Thomas is still battling back from ankle and hamstring injuries and the statuses of Emmanuel Sanders (Covid-19) and Marquez Callaway are up in the air. The Bears are elite when it comes to pressuring quarterbacks and solid against the run, so Drew Brees could be pressed to find a go-to target.
D/ST Sits
Tennessee Titans vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow is on a roll and won’t have Joe Mixon at his disposal for a second straight game after throwing for a career-high 406 yards against the Cleveland Browns. Tennessee isn’t as bad as Cleveland in the secondary, but Burrow could reach new heights now that he’s figured things out with A.J. Green.
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are down Deebo Samuel but still have Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. Tevin Coleman is poised to return from the IR and help San Francisco’s depleted backfield alongside JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon. Seattle still has one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.
