Breaking down betting splits for Game 6 of World Series

We go over how the public is betting on Game 6 of the 2020 World Series. The Dodgers have a chance to close out the Rays on Tuesday, but bettors seem to think a Game 7 is likely.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from claiming the 2020 World Series and will attempt to knock off the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 6 on Tuesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The game will begin at 8:08 p.m ET and will air on FOX. Neither team has won back-to-back games in this series and bettors don’t seem to think the Dodgers have enough in the tank to prevent a Game 7.

Los Angeles is -148 on the moneyline. Tampa Bay’s odds to win are +125 but has the backing of the public. The Rays have 62 percent of the handle on moneyline wagers. While the public is betting on the Rays winning, run line bettors favor the Dodgers to cover at -1.5. The pubic has placed 69 percent of the handle and 61 percent of the total bets on the Dodgers when it comes to run line wagers.

There have been an average of 10 runs scored per game in this year’s World series and the over/under for total runs in Game 6 is set at 8.0. There were at least eight runs scored in Games 1 through 4, but only six in Game 5. Bettors expect scoring to go back up on Tuesday and have placed 90 percent of the handle and 82 percent of the total bets on the over.
