Why I like the Bears ATS on MNF vs. the Rams

The Bears have a good chance to cover the spread as underdogs on the road against the Rams in their Week 7 Monday Night Football matchup.

Week 7’s Monday Night Football matchup will be between the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. The 5-1 Bears will look to extend their winning streak to three games while the Rams hope to bounce back from their Week 6 loss.

The Bears (+215) are 5-1 and come in as underdogs on the road against the 4-2 Rams (-250). Both teams are anchored by strong defenses so I think this has the makings of a low-scoring game. Chicago has a knack for hanging around in tight games, and that could help it cover the spread.

ATS Pick: Bears

Chicago is a 6-point underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook and has only been in one-score games this year. I think they can keep that impressive streak going in Week 8. While the Bears don’t have the most dynamic offense under Nick Foles, their defense allows them to keep the opposition within striking distance. Chicago’s pressure affected the Carolina Panthers’ efficient passing offense and some of the same tactics could be effective against Jared Goff.

The Rams have been in four one-score games of their own and have plenty of talent on defense to limit the Bears’ key players. Allen Robinson will have to deal with Jalen Ramsey for 60 minutes while David Montgomery will have to face off against a dynamite defensive line led by Aaron Donald. Robinson was the most targeted receiver in the NFL through Week 6, so taking him out of the game should slow Chicago down considerably. Montgomery hasn’t eclipsed 60 rushing yards in four games and could be ineffective if he doesn’t get going in the passing game.
