Game status: Samuel is ACTIVE for Week 7.

Game day update: Samuel is expected to play on Sunday, per Ian Rapoport.

The Carolina Panthers have a great shot to get an edge in the NFC South standings in this Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. However, they may have to do it without wide receiver Curtis Samuel. He’s listed as questionable with a knee injury on the official injury report.

Fantasy impact: Curtis Samuel (knee)

Samuel did manage to practice this week, but did so in a limited role. That’s typically a positive sign that a player will be active. He was facing a similar situation last week and still played.

While Samuel has been a useful role player in Carolina’s offense—for instance, catching all 11 targets throw his way on third downs—he hasn’t been an asset for fantasy teams. He had his best game, in terms of fantasy scoring, last week with 64 total yards. But he’s yet to find the end in a fairly low volume Carolina offense that leans most heavily on receivers D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson.
