The days of Jared Goff being a comfortable fantasy start are two years in the past. This year especially, it has been a rocky ride with Goff’s performances fluctuating between solid and lackluster. Last week’s effort against the 49ers landed in the latter category as the former No. 1 overall draft pick was held under 200 passing yards and to 15.9 fantasy points against an injury-ravaged 49ers defense. This week, the Chicago Bears head to L.A.
Fantasy Football analysis: Rams QB Jared Goff
Goff still has plenty of good options at his disposal and at times can be impressively efficient. The problem he has for Week 7 is that the Bears have been the second-best defense against quarterbacks over the past four weeks and have allowed only four passing scores all season. Matthew Stafford’s 17.2 fantasy points against the Bears in Week 1 stands as the most productive outing by a QB facing Chicago this year. That should be seen as Goff’s ceiling in a game that has one of the lowest over/unders on the slate (45 points).
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Unless you are in a two-QB or superflex league, you can do better than Goff in this tough matchup. He isn’t worth it on DraftKings, even at $5,900.
