Derek Carr had a phenomenal performance that helped the Oakland Raiders top the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5 and is coming off a bye week ahead of a Week 7 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carr receiving corps is on the mend and could give him a boost his fantasy value for the matchup.
Fantasy Football analysis: Raiders QB Derek Carr
Carr threw for over 300 yards in each of his last two games and notched a season-high 347 with three scores against the Chiefs. The Raiders signal-caller benefitted from the chunk yardage of Henry Ruggs III and completed at least one pass to 10 different players. Bryan Edwards is working toward returning from his ankle injury and would give Carr another big target to work with alongside Darren Waller. The Buccaneers have looked far more susceptible to the pass than the run because of their elite defensive line, so getting more viable pass catchers available bodes well for Carr’s production.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
The run game will likely be stagnant in this matchup. I’d start Carr because Las Vegas will have to lean on his arm heavily against arguably the best run defense in the league.
