Things have not been going well for the Texans so far this season, but that has not stopped Deshaun Watson from averaging 21.7 fantasy points per game. Watson nearly led the team to a come from behind victory in Week 6 against the Titans, however he wasn’t given the chance in overtime, as the Titans scored a touchdown to secure the victory during their first OT possession. The Texans will look to bounce back this week against the Packers. Does Watson belong in your starting lineup? We break down the fantasy analysis below.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans QB Deshaun Watson
The Green Bay defense is a less-than-ideal match-up, but not an avoid at all costs situation, as they allow an average of 231 air yards per game and have allowed nine passing touchdowns this season. Fortunately for fantasy managers, Watson has shown that he is capable of solid fantasy production no matter the caliber of his opponent this season. Also of note, despite the low yardage allowed, the Packers are allowing a respectable QB passer rating of 106.1 on the year. Watson is coming off of his third consecutive 300+ yard performance and has demonstrated good chemistry with multiple receivers. In fact, he completed touchdown passes to four different receivers in Week 6 alone. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers will likely put up plenty of of points on offense, requiring the Texans to look to Watson and the aerial attack to keep up. Watson belongs in all starting lineups in Week 7.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Watson as a QB1.
