What to do with Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray in Week 7 fantasy football

We go over Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Saints Week 7 matchup against the 49ers.

Looking at the Top Running Backs for week 7

Game day update: The Saints have not had any additional positive Covid-19 tests, which means the game is on track to happen on Sunday. ESPN projects Alvin Kamara at 22.8 points and Latavius Murray at 9.7 points in PPR leagues.

Friday game update: Saints WR Emmanuel Sanders was placed on the reserve-COVID list after testing positive on Friday. Though he is now in quarantine and away from the team, he did practice with the Saints on Thursday. The NFL will be monitoring this situation closely in case there is a need to postpone this matchup.

The Saints head into Week 7 with a matchup against their divisional foes. Fortunately, this matchup shouldn’t be too much trouble, as the Panthers defense is susceptible at best and the Saints offense is getting all of its weapons back to full strength. But will the return of Michael Thomas and Jared Cook affect the rushing game’s outlook?

Fantasy Football analysis: Saints RBs Alvin Kamara, Latavius Murray

Before the bye week, Alvin Kamara posted his two lowest fantasy scores of the season, albeit at 20.90 and 19.90 DKFP. Still, he is on pace for a career season, and if his floor is 19.90 DKFP, there really isn’t much to worry about. Here’s some comforting news: the Panthers have allowed the most receptions to opposing running backs this season. Ultimately, you shouldn’t be worried about Thomas and Cook’s presence in relation to Kamara.

As for Latavius Murray, he continues to see plenty of the field. And even with Kamara in front of him, there should be plenty of opportunities for Murray to get relevant work in this game if it turns into a blowout. And it very well could.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Don’t even think about sitting Kamara. Start Murray as a flex option in deep leagues.
