What to do with Chase Claypool in Week 7 fantasy football

We go over Chase Claypool’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Steelers Week 7 matchup against the Titans.

Game day update: ESPN projects Claypool at 13.2 points in PPR leagues, the most for any Steelers wide receiver. This marks the first week their entire receiving corps is fully healthy since Claypool’s recent emergence. The rookie continues to have significant upside, but keep measured expectations with all the mouths for Ben Roethlisberger to feed.

Chase Claypool emerged as a fantasy football star following Diontae Johnson’s back injury in Week 5. The Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wideout will look to build on his recent success against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7. Let’s go over his fantasy outlook.

Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers WR Chase Claypool

Claypool has led the Steelers in receiving yards for two straight weeks. He had four receptions for 74 yards along with a rushing touchdown last week, and seven receptions for 110 yards and three touchdowns along with a rushing touchdown the week prior.

He’s caught three touchdown passes and rushed for two scores since Johnson went down and appears to be preferred over JuJu Smith-Schuster by Ben Roethlisberger. While Johnson is set to return in Week 7, Claypool should remain very involved in Pittsburgh’s offense. Tennessee has a bottom five pass defense that could give up chunk yardage to the rookie.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Claypool has momentum and the trust of his quarterback on his side against a poor pass defense. I’d start him despite Johnson’s return to the lineup.
