The NFC East is up for grabs since the Dallas Cowboys were blown out by the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. The Philadelphia Eagles will now get a chance to take the lead in the division if they top the New York Giants in a Thursday Night Football matchup to kick off Week 7.
Both Eagles and Giants have one win on the year and will enter this matchup banged up on offense. New York has struggled to put points on the board with Saquon Barkley out for the year. Sterling Shepard is a game-time decision to be removed from IR, and Darius Slayton has been limited in practice with a foot injury. The Giants could have to depend on the struggling Evan Engram and their lackluster backfield against one of the better run defenses in the NFL.
The Eagles lost Zach Ertz (ankle) and Miles Sanders (knee) to injuries in Week 6 but managed to put up 28 points against the Baltimore Ravens’ stout defense. Their receiving corps has been thin for most of the season but they’ll get DeSean Jackson back from injury to play alongside the thriving Travis Fulgham out wide. I don’t think the Giants have enough firepower in offense to pull off this win. Especially since they’re on the road.
ATS Pick: Eagles
The Eagles (-225) are favored by 4.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook. They haven’t gotten close to dominating this season. They beat the depleted San Francisco 49ers by five points on the road, and a worse version of that team beat New York 36-9 earlier in the year. The Giants. New York only eclipsed 20 points against the Dallas Cowboys, who have give up more points than any team in the NFL at this point in the season. If Daniel Jones’ top target is Golden Tate I can see Philadelphia winning by at least a score easily.
