Friday PM update: Coach Zac Taylor says that Joe Mixon will be out Week 7 against the Browns, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Giovani Bernard should be a useful fantasy play in his place.
Friday AM update: Mixon is not practicing for a third straight day, per Tyler Dragon. The team will announce his injury status Friday afternoon.
Thursday PM update: Mixon remains sidelined and not practicing for the Bengals on Thursday, per Ben Baby.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon suffered a foot injury against the Colts in Week 6, but was able to return to the game. Mixon will not practice on Wednesday due to his foot issue, per Tyler Dragon. If he can’t play, Giovani Bernard would likely take over the bulk of the work and would be worth a start in most leagues.
Mixon is only averaged 3.6 yards per carry this season, but he’s getting a sizable volume of work to boost fantasy football teams. He continues to be a valuable PPR option, putting up back-to-back six-reception games recently. Joe Burrow is targeting Mixon more than four times per game in the passing game.
Bernard had 8 carries for 15 yards and a touchdown to go along with 3 receptions for 13 yards last week following Mixon’s injury.
