Tale of the tape for Charles Jourdain vs. Joshua Culibao

Charles Jourdain will take on Joshua Culiboa in a featherweight bout at UFC Fight Island 4 in Abu Dhabi this Saturday and live on ESPN+.

24-year-old Canadian Charles “Air” Jourdain will come in as the heavy favorite. He’s 10-3 in his MMA career and 1-2 at the UFC level. Both losses have been via decision with his only win a second-round knockout. Jourdain has never let a win go the distance yet all three of his losses have. He’s an aggressive striker, throwing 4.58 significant strikes per minute and landing 43 percent of them. However, he takes 4.15 and deflects only 59 percent of those, so it might be up to Jourdain if there will be plenty of swinging.

It may be one-sided as he’ll take on Josh Culibao who is fighting in the UFC for just his second time. Culibao was abused in the ring his first time around, losing in significant strikes 55-12. He was knocked out in the second round.

While the 26-year-old has a much cleaner MMA career that include five knockout wins, he’s hard to trust at the UFC level, and thus the reason Jourdain will be the heavy favorite. Both early in their career, Culibao finding his rhythm at a higher level may just be a matter of time.
