Joe Mixon questionable to return vs. Colts

Bengals RB Joe Mixon suffered a foot injury and is questionable to return. We break down what it means for him and Gio Bernard in Week 6.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is questionable to return against the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a foot injury in the second quarter, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Tyler Dragon. Mixon rushed for 40 yard and a score on 11 carries before exiting the game and his absence will lead likely to Giovanni Bernard getting a larger role in the offense. Bernard has -2 rushing yards on four carries but has run for a score and caught a pass for four yard.

The Bengals command a 24-14 lead ahead of the break and could opt to pound the ground and run some clock should they stay ahead down the stretch. The game script bodes well for Bernard at this point.
