Game status: Samuel is INACTIVE for Week 6.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel is officially listed as questionable for this week’s game against the Chicago Bears. He has been dealing with a knee injury throughout the week. Head coach Matt Rhule said that they plan to wait and see how he feels on Sunday before making a decision as to activate him.

Fantasy impact: Panthers WR Curtis Samuel Injury

The fact that the team activated wide receiver Keith Kirkwood this week does not bode well for Samuel’s availability on Sunday. Even if Samuel does play, however, he would best be left on the waiver wire for fantasy purposes. The Bears defense is allowing just 230 passing yards per game, and has only given up four receiving touchdowns all season. Beyond that, Samuel just hasn’t been very effective. Through five games, he’s only got 183 yards. His best game was a 51-yard outing in Week 4 against the Cardinals, and he has yet to find the end zone.
