We go over Frank Gore and La’Mical Perine’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Jets Week 6 matchup against the Dolphins.

It’s safe to say the Le’Veon Bell experiment did not work out for the New York Jets as he was released and is now a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. So where does that leave the Jets backfield? It’s likely to be down to Frank Gore and Le’Mical Perine moving forward.

How should fantasy owners handle them heading into the weekend? Here’s a closer look.

Fantasy Football analysis: Jets RBs Frank Gore, La’Mical Perine

In Sunday’s 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Bell led the running backs in touches with 13 carries for 60 yards. He also caught one pass for seven yards. Gore carried the ball nine times for 30 yards.

Meanwhile, Perine did not even see the field on offense for the Jets on Sunday. That will definitely change, and he could potentially be worth having on a roster as we wait to see what the Jets offense looks like in terms of who’s getting the carries between him and Gore.

The Jets are matching up with the Miami Dolphins, which just allowed 6.9 yards per carry to the San Francisco 49ers in a win on Sunday. Raheem Mostert led San Francisco with 11 carries for 90 yards.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Gore is a low-end third running back for fantasy purposes, and Perine should not be considered a fantasy play even in the deepest of leagues.
