Six and nine.
6 and 9.
Those are the total not-so-nice receiving yard totals for Zach Ertz from the last two weeks. The Philadelphia Eagles tight end caught a single pass for six yards last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and then four passes for a whopping nine yards the week before that against the San Francisco 49ers.
This week, the Eagles are set to host the Baltimore Ravens, and if Philadelphia wants any hope of turning their season around, they will focus on getting Zach Ertz the ball more often during the game.
Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles TE Zach Ertz
Ertz’s yardage totals might be disappointing, but his targets are still decent, all things considered. Ertz has averaged 7 targets per game in 2020, and if we can approach something closer to his career norms as far as catch percentage, we should slowly see an uptick in Ertz’s production.
The Baltimore Ravens are currently allowing the 13th-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2020, and just three weeks ago Travis Kelce was able to catch six balls for 87 yards against the Ravens defense. If Ertz can get 6+ targets again this week, hopefully he can perform closer to Travis Kelce on the football field instead of Travis Barker.
But let’s be honest: if you drafted Zach Ertz, odds are you don’t have many better options at tight end anyway.
