What to do with Kirk Cousins in Week 6 fantasy football

We go over Kirk Cousins’ fantasy football outlook ahead of the Vikings Week 6 matchup against the Falcons.

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is coming off a fairly productive game from a fantasy perspective in Sunday’s 27-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, though fantasy owners probably expected more against the league’s worst pass defense.

What should fantasy owners expect from Cousins on Sunday? Here’s a breakdown.

Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings QB Kirk Cousins

On Sunday, Cousins threw the ball a season-high 39 times and completed 27 passes for 249 yards with a pair of touchdowns, an interception and lost fumble. Despite throwing 12 more passes than Cousins’ previous high in pass attempts, the Vikings still kept the ball on the ground quite a bit with 41 rushing attempts.

The Vikings are second-to-last in front of only the Baltimore Ravens in fewest pass attempts per game on average. Fantasy owners likely should’ve expected more against a Seahawks defense that is by far the worst in the NFL from a passing yards per game perspective.

Minnesota will have another nice matchup when it plays the Atlanta Falcons at home on Sunday. Behind Seattle, the Falcons are the second worst team in the NFL against the pass, allowing 335.8 yards per game through the air.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Cousins could be used as a starter if you need a bye week fill in. Other than that, he can consistently be on fantasy benches even with this nice matchup.
