We go over Ryan Fitzpatrick’s fantasy football outlook ahead of the Dolphins Week 6 matchup against the Jets.

Just when we thought the Ryan Fitzpatrick experience in Miami was starting to wind down, the bearded Ivy Leaguer quieted that rising chorus of calls for Tua Tagovailoa with a near-perfect outing in Week 5 versus the 49ers. Fitzpatrick was on point from the start, going 3-for-4 for 65 yards and a touchdown on the first drive. That was the beginning of a 350-yard, three-score day as Fitzpatrick guided the Miami Dolphins to a surprising blowout victory on the road, 43-17. He’ll try to stay hot this weekend versus the New York Jets.

Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick

At some point, we know this is going to go poorly. Fitzpatrick has had stints throughout his long career where he looks like a top-10 quarterback, shining like a supernova only to quickly morph into a black hole for fantasy owners just as quickly. It appeared like Fitzpatrick was on that descending stage in Week 4 versus the Seahawks as he posted a 66.4 quarterback rating. But with his bounce back in Week 5, he has secured himself at least one more start and appears to be set up for another good outing with the New York Jets next on the schedule.

The hapless Jets have allowed multiple touchdowns to quarterbacks in all but one week this season. The outlier in that stat is Philip Rivers, who hasn’t accounted for multiple touchdowns against anyone this year. Fitzpatrick has attained multiple touchdowns and at least 300 passing yards in three of five games thus far.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

With his receiving corps at full strength and a tasty matchup on deck, Fitzpatrick should be one of the most popular spot-start QBs in season-long leagues this week. His $5,900 price tag on DraftKings is pretty friendly, too.
