UPDATE: The Broncos have officially ruled out Noah Fant due to his ankle injury. Nick Vannett would likely slot in as TE 1 with Jake Butt and Albert Okwuegbunam getting work behind him. None is worth starting in Week 6.
The Denver Broncos could really use tight end Noah Fant, who’s been one of the team’s most reliable pass catchers when he’s on the field. Fant is listed as questionable this week, still on the mend from an ankle injury suffered back in Week 4. Head coach Vic Fangio said that Fant will be a game-time decision.
Fantasy impact: Broncos TE Noah Fant injury
Fant is an enticing option in fantasy leagues this week thanks largely to the return of quarterback Drew Lock. He had 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns through four games before his injury. If he can’t play, that means a bigger workload for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. Without Fant, Broncos tight ends are only good for blocking.
The good news is that this game is an early kickoff on Sunday, giving you just enough time to see if Fant is in fact active. And while his injury still may pose limitations, if he’s active, he belongs in fantasy lineups.
