Bundesliga returns to action this weekend after the international break, and there are definitely some matches to keep an eye on if you plan on making any bets. Let’s look at some of the highlights of the weekend ahead. Betting splits courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
FC Augsburg v. RB Leipzig, Saturday October 17th, 9:30AM ET
Augsburg +500: 6% of handle, 4% of bets
Tie +335: 1% of handle, 1% of bets
RB Leipzig -190: 93% of handle, 95% of bets
Both the odds and the public bets have made it clear who they think will be the winner of this one, but I’d think twice before mindlessly betting on the favored winners. Leipzig and Augsburg sit at #1 and #2 in the table, respectively, and both have a record of 2-1-0. Augsburg is off to a fantastic start to the season, logging victories against Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund in their first two outings, while earning a 0-0 draw on the road against Wolfsburg in Week 3. Leipzig also looks great so far this season, with a 3-1 win over Mainz and a 4-0 win over Schalke, sandwiched around a 1-1 draw against Leverkusen. This game could truly go either way, and it’ll be an exciting one to watch.
DSC Arminia Bielefeld v. Bayern Munich, Sunday October 17th, 12:30PM ET
Arminia Bielefeld +1300: 1% of handle, 1% of bets
Tie +650: 0% of handle, 0% of bets
Bayern -560: 98% of handle, 99% of bets
This match is an obvious no-brainer, as is seen in the bets and the splits. The reigning Bundesliga champions will head on the road to take on 10th-place Arminia Bielefeld in what should be an easy contest for Bayern on paper. Bielefeld will make a case for themselves though, entering Bundesliga this season after coming out on top as champions of Bundesliga 2 last season. They also grabbed four points from their first two games and followed it up by narrowly losing 1-0 to Werder Bremen in Week 3. Bayern will be without Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich, although Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa should both be available for this weekend’s game. All signs point to a Bayern win, but in this league — especially in 2020 — anything is possible.
Here’s a look at the splits for the rest of the weekend’s match-ups.
