Don’t forget the kicker!

If you’re still scrambling to make a decision on your kicker this week, don’t panic. Here are a few suggestions to help put you over the top.

Kickers to start

Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins

Miami’s kicker is coming off two straight weeks where he’s scoring fantasy points like a stud running back. In his last two games, he is an astonishing five-for-five on field goals, not to mention the four extra points he booted last Sunday in a blowout win over the 49ers. He’s perfect on all his kicks so far this season, and he has the opportunity to add even more this week against the Jets.

Rodrigo Blankenship, Indianapolis Colts

One of the best kickers in fantasy football, Blankenship is averaging 11 points per game, and he’s on a hot streak with double digits in his last four outings. He should have plenty of chances again this week against a Bengals team that’s giving up almost 10 points per game to kickers.

Kickers to sit

Randy Bullock, Cincinnati Bengals

Bullock is a tempting option for streamers with three double-digit games in his last four outings. He’s averaging 10 points per game and has only missed one kick in 23 tries (for field goals and extra points). But this week he gets the Colts, and it’s going to be hard for the Bengals to move the ball enough to give him the opportunities he needs to score, not to mention three-pointers aren’t likely going to be a realistic option for Cincy in the second half of this game.

Ryan Succop, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Hot off a four-for-four field goal kicking clinic last week against the Bears, the Bucs’ kicker is going to be drawing lots of eyeballs as a streaming option this week. The only problem is that the Packers are one of the league’s best defenses against kickers, having allowed just five three-pointers all season.
