Friday update: Dalvin Cook will not play in Week 6, per ESPN’s Field Yates. Alexander will get the start and is a strong start this week.
Thursday PM update: Cook is not practicing on Thursday, per Andrew Krammer. It appears highly unlikely Cook will be playing this weekend against the Falcons.
Wednesday PM update: Cook is not practicing on Wednesday due to his groin injury, per Courtney Cronin.
Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook suffered a groin injury Sunday night against the Seahawks. he came back in the game for one play, but then left and never returned. He had an MRI on Monday, and coach Mike Zimmer said that it went “pretty well,” per ESPN’s Courtney Cronin.
It appears that Cook has avoided a serious injury, but there is still a chance they hold him out against the 0-5 Falcons. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero believes they could hold Cook out:
#Vikings RB Dalvin Cook avoided a major injury Sunday night, when he left the loss to Seattle after tweaking his groin. “He’s good,” source said.

Minnesota may exercise caution, with 0-5 Atlanta up next before the bye, then a divisional game Nov. 1 at Green Bay.
Much will depend on if he can practice this week and if they believe there is any chance that he might aggravate the injury. Alexander Mattison looked good in relief of Cook and he would carry the load against the Falcons if they decide to give Cook the bye week to get fully healthy.
