Game status: Mike Williams is ACTIVE for Week 5.

Game day update: Williams is “trending upward,” according to Tom Pelissero.

Los Angeles Chargers Mike Williams showed up on the team’s official Week 5 injury report with a questionable designation. After missing practice on Thursday, Williams was able to return in a limited role on Friday and Saturday. His status for Monday’s game against the New Orleans Saints is likely to be announced closer to game time.

Fantasy impact: Mike Williams injury

Williams left his team’s Week 3 game with a hamstring injury, and hasn’t been back in action since then. In the two and a half games he has played this season, Williams has seven catches on 14 targets with 100 yards and no touchdowns. His best outing of the season so far came in Week 1 when he rolled up 69 very nice yards on four catches.

Throughout his career, Williams has always been a hit or miss player, especially when it comes to fantasy. But after topping the 1,000-yard mark last season, there were high hopes that he could be ready for a breakout. Wide receiver Keenan Allen and tight end Hunter Henry are better options in this one.
