The something has to give game of the week is between the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns. Two soaring teams carrying a three game win streak, each promises to have fireworks. We will find out who is for real in the AFC and who is not this week.
As home dogs, the Browns are going to be licking their chops looking at the doubters all across the NFL landscape and look to win and upend their +1 spread status. As we look at some numbers we can see that the Colts are relatively well balanced with a solid offense and defense, averaging 25.8 points per game and allowing just 14. While the Browns are run ‘n gun offense with a weak defense averaging 31 points per game and allowing 31.5 per.
With the over/under set at 47.5, the over seems to be the play with two good offenses and one good defense. The Browns, while usually on a downward slope by now, have looked real confident under new head coach Kevin Stefanski. Add an unlocking of Odell Beckham and we have a home underdog who is looking for blood.
The ever so slight majority of the handle and bets are for the Colts and the points, with 51 percent of the handle and 51 percent of the bets leaning toward Indianapolis. The moneyline paints a different story as the Browns are getting a solid backing with 67 percent of the handle and 67 percent of the bets favoring them to win outright.
Moving on to the point total, the money is on the over, with 60 percent of the handle hoping the game goes over 47.5 points. The percent of bets made are also on the over, with 70 percent leaning over.
This is one of the better games this week and should be an exciting one.
