The Washington Football Team made headlines this week following head coach Ron Rivera’s surprising decision to bench 2019 first-round quarterback Dwayne Haskins for Kyle Allen, the former undrafted free agent that started a handful of games under Rivera last season in Carolina. While the full fallout from the move remains to be seen, it will have a major effect on the passing game during Sunday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.
Fantasy Football analysis: Washington WRs Terry McLaurin, Dontrelle Inman
For those hoping to play wide receiver Terry McLaurin this week, the change at quarterback represents one of the multiple issues at hand. McLaurin missed Wednesday’s practice with a thigh injury before returning Thursday on a limited basis. While that improvement puts the second-year wideout on a trajectory to start, Washington could still hold him out or limit his snaps as a precautionary measure. If McLaurin does suit up Sunday, he draws All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey in coverage.
Meanwhile, Dontrelle Inman has started for Washington each of the last two weeks and could see more work if the coaching staff limits McLaurin or holds him out. From a fantasy perspective, Inman offers only meager appeal at this point in his career outside of the odd touchdown here and there. He scored twice in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
If McLaurin starts for Washington, he should start for your fantasy team.
Inman should only appear in lineups as an emergency flex in deep, deep season-long fantasy leagues, and probably not even then.
