It’s safe to say that Joe Mixon caught a lot of fantasy owners by surprise last week. He scored three times and posted 181 total yards to power the Cincinnati Bengals to their first win of the season. Unfortunately, things could be a little tougher this week.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals RB Joe Mixon
Mixon’s big game came after three weeks of forgettable work. Prior to that performance, he had yet to find the end zone, and in his best game before that, he posted just 86 total yards against the Browns.
This week he gets to face a Ravens defense that’s been stingy with opposing running backs. The temptation for fantasy is going to be betting another big week from a back who’s capable of exploding for a big day at any time, but that is unlikely to happen in this matchup. It’s hard to justify sitting Mixon in most fantasy formats, but you can definitely find better values in DFS leagues.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Joe Mixon.
