What to do with David Johnson, Duke Johnson Jr. in Week 5 fantasy football

Whether or not Houston’s offense will improve this week, David Johnson has fantasy appeal against the Jags.

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Despite all the team gave up in the trade that brought running back David Johnson into the fold, the Houston Texans don’t have a lot to show for his work. The lead back has just 197 rushing yards and two touchdown through four game, looking very much like his better days are behind him. However, the team fired its head coach and has a favorable matchup this week that could boost the starting running back’s fortunes.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans RBs David Johnson and Duke Johnson Jr.

This week Houston plays the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that let Joe Mixon of the Bengals run all over them to the tune of 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns (Mixon added another 30 receiving yards and a score in that one too.) It might be difficult for David Johnson to match those numbers, but it’s the kind of game where he should find some success. And at $5,200 in DraftKings leagues, he’s not a bad value addition.

Duke Johnson doesn’t play a big enough role to merit fantasy consideration.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start David Johnson. Sit Duke Johnson.
