The best game and sleeper game to watch in Week 6 of the college football schedule

Week 6 of the college football season is upon us, and there is plenty of action to go around. It’s another loaded slate that should feature some compelling storylines created this weekend we will be talking about the rest of the season.

Here is a look at the best matchup, a sleeper matchup and one you can go ahead and avoid.

Best game

The Clemson Tigers will see their first real test of the 2020 college football season when they host the seventh-ranked Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night. Clemson is currently favored by 14 points according to DraftKings Sportsbook. It has been more than a full calendar year since the Tigers beat an ACC opponent by less than 14 points.

Miami is often mocked for its inability to compete as one of the top teams in the country and through three games, this team appears to be different. D’Eriq King is among the most exciting players in the sport at quarterback, and the Hurricanes are 3-0, winning every game by at least 13 points this season. All college football eyes should be on Miami-Clemson on Saturday night.

Sleeper game

We’re going with the Tennessee Volunteers heading out to play the Georgia Bulldogs. This is a massive moment coming for the Tennessee football program. The Volunteers have won eight consecutive games dating back to last season. While that’s fairly impressive, those wins have come against fairly mediocre teams. Tennessee has conquered the bad teams of the SEC, and now it has a chance to compete against the big boys.

This is as good of a time as any against Georgia. The Bulldogs’ quarterback is Stetson Bennett, who was probably looked at as the team’s No. 4 QB through much of the offseason. This will be the second start of his college career, and the Bulldogs are going in as 12.5-point favorites.

Worst game

Yes, there are plenty of lower-level FBS games that you probably don’t need to watch and just to make a point, I considered throwing in the Red River Rivalry in this spot to punish Texas and Oklahoma for fooling America each year. In the end, let’s go with the Duke Blue Devils heading on the road to play the Syracuse Orange as the worst game of the weekend.

This will be fairly easy to miss since it’s on ESPN3 and will be on at the same time as Florida-Texas A&M, Virginia Tech-North Carolina and Texas-Oklahoma. This game features two teams with combined records of 1-6 with the Blue Devils looking for win No. 1. It’s been a struggle for Clemson transfer Chase Brice at quarterback for Duke, which leads all of college football with 15 turnovers through four games.

With all the good games on Saturday, Duke and Syracuse does not need to be part of the rotation.
