In a middleweight preliminary card bout, Impa Kasanganay will take on Joaquin Buckley live this Saturday from Fight Island in Abu Dhabi and also available on ESPN+.
Kasanganay will come in as the early favorite, entering an undefeated 8-0. He has just one UFC fight, a victory by unanimous decision over Maki Pitolo on August 29th. Averaging 5.58 significant strikes per minute and 1.67 takedowns per 15 minutes in three graded fights, he’s capable of doing just about everything. He also has a 57 percent strike defense rate.
He’ll be welcoming Buckley, who is 10-3 in the MMA and 0-1 in the UFC to the octagon. Buckley is a strike-heavy fighter with seven of his ten victories being via knockout. He’ll be a heavy underdog to the public having lost his only UFC fight, where he averaged just 3.8 significant strikes per minute before being stopped by Kevin Holland in the third round.
