Friday update: The Falcons got in their second practice of the week heading into Monday Night Football. Jones was listed as limited with his hamstring injury, while Gage was a full participant as he gets over a concussion last week.
The Atlanta Falcons returned to practice on Thursday to open preparations for their Week 4 Monday Night Football matchup with the Green Bay Packers, and they got some good news. Wide receiver Julio Jones was at practice after missing last week with a hamstring injury, and Russell Gage was practicing after suffering a reported concussion on Sunday.
Jones was a DNP all last week with his hamstring injury, and while the team hoped he could go on Sunday, they eventually deactivated him on game day. Gage left Sunday’s game and even if he is listed as limited on the Thursday report, it’s a step in the right direction with the concussion protocol.
Calvin Ridley has been the team’s leading pass catcher, but Gage has emerged as a solid complement to him and Jones. They face a Packers defense that has struggled and ranks 20th against the pass. However, the Packers offense ranks second overall and fifth in passing. This is likely to turn into a shootout, so every healthy body will be welcomed.
